Stutt Stumble 2017

Stutterheim Round Table 103 once again convened the Stutt Stumble 15km run/walk and 5km fun run/walk. We linked up with the local farmers’ market which was held at Eagles Ridge on the 3 June 2017.

This year we decided to change the route in order to really take advantage of the pristine surrounding forests. As a result the trail was more challenging, but also more beautiful and enjoyable.

After a slow start to the morning, the participants started to show up in their droves and in the end we were so proud to see that we had attracted an amazing 303 participants this year! Of this there were 147 15km runners, 17 15km walkers and 139 5km fun runners/walkers.

Events like this would not succeed without the support of businesses and individuals alike. One of the biggest draws of many events is a T-shirt to commemorate participation. Providing these would not have been possible if it was not for the sponsorship received from local businesses.

Our main sponsor this year was Yebo Tanks. Without their contribution we may not have been able to provide the incentive of 230 T-shirts this year. Other sponsors were Rance Timber, Tribal Trading, Hornbills Forest Cottages, Mangaliso Matshobane, Meyers Motors KWT, Electrical Worx, The Croft, Multi-trust and Bouwers Repairs.

The other contributors were: Shaun Jacoby, Amahlati Municipality and Amathole Forestry Company.

Special thanks to the Table Legs and Tablers for all the effort and hours spent on ensuring the success of the Stutt Stumble.

Results for the different events were as follows:

Yours in Table,
Sean Richter
